The activists of Hamara Uttarakhand Manch (HUM) started the New Year by undertaking a sanitation drive at Dussehra ground of Prem Nagar. The workers of the organisation collected 45 sacks of the garbage and handed it over to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cantt Board, Zakir Hussain who appreciated the gesture of the workers and promised every possible help. Incidentally the HUM workers had undertook a similar drive in the same ground after Dussehra celebration last year. The Patron of HUM, Anoop Nautiyal said that the HUM workers wanted to start the year in a different way. He said that the effort was appreciated by the residents of the area, who even participated in the drive. Nautiyal said that he had undertaken a Chipko Andolan on the first day of 2016 to propagate the message of green Doon.  The president of the HUM Ranbir Chaudhary said that heaps of garbage remain piled in different part of City which highlight the inactivity of the local MlA. He said that the Manch got support of local residents and youths in the drive.  The HUM workers who participated in the drive included Anoop Nautiyal, Ranbir Chaudhary, Sunita Singh, Umang Devradi and others.
