State Finance Minister and MlA from Haldwani Indira Hridayesh on Thursday expressed serious concern over poor distribution of domestic cooking gas cylinders with people remaining at the receiving end of things. The dismal state of things came to light when she visited the office of the Indane gas supply agency at Shishmahal, Kathgodam.
The common refrain among the people of Haldwani’s Ranibag area is that there has been no home delivery of the cooking gas cylinders for the past one month. There are about 1000 cooking gas consumers in Ranibag.
But the gas agency concerned sent only 250 gas cylinders on January 27. Since then, there is no cooking gas supply here, alleged the consumers from Ranibag. However, appalled by the plight of the common people of Ranibag, State Haridayesh directed the agency concerned to ensure supply of the cooking gas to Ranibag on Thursday itself.
She also found during her unannounced visit to the Indane office that the cylinders are not being rightly filled. Exasperated, she asked the officials concerned of the domestic cooking gas agencies to ensure that the cylinders are rightly filled.
