The World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7) is being celebrated at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. In a bid to create awareness, the hospital is organising various activities to call for supporting women to breast feed.
The hospital is organising a poster competition for medical and nursing students to stimulate interest amongst young people of both genders to set the relevance of breast feeding; and lectures for nursing mother. Pregnant & nursing mother will be counseled regarding various feeding problems at pediatrics and gynecology OPD’s by senior consultants from 9am-3pm daily.
On the opening day of breastfeeding week, approximately 80 mothers were educated regarding benefits of breast feeding.
