Hospital helper allegedly rapes minor

A minor girl was allegedly raped by a helper working in the premises of a hospital owned by a seer where her father was admitted.

While the accused was arrested, the girl was sent for medical examination in Mahila Hospital, police said. However, the hospital administration has denied the allegation, saying that the girl’s parents are trying to blackmail the hospital management to dodge the pending hospital bills. According to Haridwar police, the father of the 15 year-old girl was admitted in Bhuma Niketan hospital, run by a noted saint Swami Achyutanand Teerth seven days ago in critical condition.

The accused was Gamlesh Yadav who was residing in the hospital premises. Police said as per the allegation, Yadav met the girl two days ago, lured her to help his family and allegedly raped her. Speaking of the matter,  SHO Jwalapur Amarjeet Singh said, “The survivor and her parents contacted us on Friday. We have booked Gamlesh under Section 376 of Indian Penal Code and registered a case against him.”

Quizzed over the charge, manager of Swami Achyutanand Teerth, Rajendra Sharma said the allegation was baseless.
