In view of the decreasing interest of the students in the BEd courses the HNB Garhwal Central University has decided to relax the minimum passing mark requirement in the BEd entrance examination.
It is learnt that more than 60 per cent seats in the BEd colleges are vacant in the colleges affiliated with the university.
In a recent letter directed to the colleges, the university has said that any candidate belonging to general category that has scored 80 marks or above out of 400 in the entrance examination could be considered for admission in the BEd courses. For the students belonging to SC/ST and OBC the minimum mark requirement is 54 and 72 respectively now.
