The Hindi examination of more than 13,000 students belonging to Uttarakhand board of Pauri district was re-conducted on Sunday. The exam had to be re-conducted due to the mistake of the centre superintendent. The Centre Superintendent and Custodian of Public Inter College, Nainidanda (an aided school) in Pauri district had opened the sealed envelope containing question paper of Class X on March 4 instead of Class XII Hindi Paper which was scheduled on that day. The class X paper was scheduled on March 5 and the exam was taken with the question paper which was opened a day earlier.
In view of maintaining sanctity of the examination the Uttarakhand Vidhyalyi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) decided to cancel the earlier examination of Hindi in Pauri distirct and re-scheduled the examination on Sunday. UVSP’s secretary, RD Sharma stationed himself in Pauri to oversee the examination. Talking to The Pioneer, he said that the examination was held in 160 exam centres of the district. He claimed that the examination was organised peacefully and without any hitch this time.
Meanwhile the education department has acted on the issue and suspended four teachers. The UVSP had conducted a probe on the matter and fixed responsibility on the Principal and four other teachers in the matter. Acting on the recommendation of the board, Additional Director Pauri, R K Uniyal suspended four teachers, Arvind Kumar, Arvind Singh Chauhan, Satendra Kumar Sharma and Sudha Binjhola. The dept has also recommended suspension of Principal and Centre Superintendent Jaipal Singh Rawat to the management of the school for gross neglect in the whole issue.
