The State Government has handed over the task of operating the district hospital of Tehri to the Himalayan Hospital Jolly grant under Uttarakhand Health System Development Project. Apart from the district hospital of Tehri, the Himalayan Hospital would take over the operation of Community Health Centres (CHCs) of Beleshwar and Devprayag.
Informing about the Government’s decision, the secretary Health Nitesh Kumar Jha said on Friday that under the project, the Himalayan Hospital would also purchase three mobile medical vehicles which would treat and transport patients to these three hospitals from different parts of the district.
He claimed that that the State Govt would soon enter into an agreement with the Himalayan Hospital and within two months the district hospital would be transferred. Under the agreement the Himalayan Hospital would provide doctors, paramedical staff and technicians to the Government health centres.
Apart from providing quality health services in Tehri district, the project would relieve the serving Govt doctors from posting in other hospitals where they are required.
