In a new development in the PG course admission controversy dogging the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT), Jolly Grant, a Delhi-based doctor Dr Amardeep Kumar has registered a case against some persons, including Rohit Chauhan, Sandeep Gupta, Vijay, Ankush Sagar and Anubham Garg, in Dalanwala police station. In his written complaint, Dr Kumar stated that he had paid Rs46 lakh to these swindlers for admission in PG course in HIHT. However, neither had he got admission nor had his money been returned, he complained.
Sources said that one more doctor had approached police, stating that he had also paid Rs52 lakh for admission with admission remaining elusive and the money being un-returned.
Dalanwala police station inspector Anil Kumar Joshi said that taking cognisance of Dr Kumar’s complaint, a case under appropriate sections of IPC was registered against some unidentified persons in Dalanwala police station. In connection with the case, Dehradun police had so far arrested five swindlers who are now languishing in Sudhowala jail. Four of them were taken into police remand from whom relevant documents related to this case have been collected. So far around 16 doctors across the country had recorded their statements. Sources said that police would soon submit charge-sheets against the accused.
The swindlers had allegedly cheated several students and doctors by posing themselves as owners and administrative officers of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT), Jolly Grant and promising them admission in PG course in lieu of huge sums of money.
Earlier, lakam Dikshapati, another victim, stated that he acquainted with Satish Negi over internet. “Negi identified himself as Vijay Dhasmana, member presidential body of HIHT. Negi had pasted his photograph on the internet which was almost similar to that of the owner of the facility Dhasmana. Negi had promised the victim admission in PG course in lieu of Rs6 lakh,” he said.
