Though police was successful in apprehending Hardeep, his modus operandi and the ease with which he used to enter the houses and drugged elderly speak volumes about the need to make people aware about their safety. Hardeep told police that the people of Dehardun are simple and easily believe in strangers. He said the people in areas like western UP (where he belongs) are more cautious and never allow strangers to enter their houses. The SSP also accepted that people especially elderly should take lesson from these incidences and be more cautious about their safety.
