In order to increase the monitoring of the Government school of the State the education department has appointed high ranking State level officers as mentors for schools of one or two blocks. The Director General (DG) of school education D Senthil Pandian released these orders on Wednesday.

The DG was reportedly not satisfied by the fact that the officers concerned were not travelling to monitor the schools in a desired way due to which he decided to appoint state level officers as mentors/ nodal officers of the blocks. These nodal officers would extensively tour the schools of the block they are entrusted and submit a monthly report directly to DG.

These officials are given with the task of monitoring the standard of teaching, enrollment of students, number of posts of teachers and other things.
