The Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast the possibility of rather heavy to heavy rainfall at isolated places in south Kumaon region during next 48 hours starting from Wednesday afternoon.

Rain since the weekend in Dehradun has once again exposed the failure of the authorities to redress civic problems like waterlogging and improper civic sanitation in the State capital. Though District magistrate Chandresh Kumar Yadav claimed that to address public grievances, Complaint Redressal Cell has been established, the pace of redressal of public grievances is not appreciable.

Though, the meteorological centre had forecast rainfall on Tuesday, Dehradun did not receive rainfall. Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 29.8°C and 23.4°C respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Wednesday is cloudy sky and one or two spells of moderate rain/ thunder storm at isolated places in the district. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29°C and 23°C respectively on Wednesday in Dehradun.
