Heavy police force has been deployed in Miyawala area in Dehradun district on Thursday in view of the tension prevailing over the construction of a pucca place of religion. Other communities are opposing it. Things flared up after a polythene sheet covering the under-construction place of worship was found burnt on Wednesday night. With the situation remaining fraught with fresh flare-ups, Dehradun district magistrate, SP rural and other police officers reached the spot and asked all to maintain peace and harmony in the area.
DM talked to the people of both the communities. The district officers were camping in Miyawala till the report was filing. The residents said despite the matter triggering tension off and on, the district administration has done nothing to address the issue taking both the communities on board.
