The Nainital High Court has set March 17 as the date for the next hearing of the case filed against CBI for probing the sting operation that purportedly showed the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat as offering bribe to the dissident Congress MlAs in exchange for their support in the floor test.
It should be mentioned here that CBI had registered the preliminary inquiry on April 29, 2016 to probe the video. In March last year, the former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat had released a sting while accusing the CM of horse trading MlAs to secure majority in the Vidhan Sabha. CM had dubbed the sting as conspiracy. Harak Singh Rawat had opposed such plea filed by the CM in the court. Harak’s advocate on Monday appealed to the court for a new date of hearing, citing the Assembly election, it is learnt.
