The Nainital High Court has conditionally permitted Acharya Balkrishna, the second in command of Patanjali Yoga Peeth after Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and who is an accused in a forgery case, to visit Nepal on Tuesday.
Balkrishna had earlier sought permission from the High Court to visit Nepal from 23 November to 30 November for seven days. Hearing his application, the single bench of High Court allowed Balkrishna to visit Nepal on the said dates as pleaded by him. However, he would have to present himself before the court after he returns from Nepal.
Earlier, the High Court had directed Balkrishna to submit his passport, which was allegedly acquired by providing “fake” documents, and had banned his foreign visits.
Notably, three main centres of Patanjali Yog Peeth are running in Nepal and much of the raw materials for making Ayurvedic medicines in Haridwar are procured from Nepal which has rich biodiversity. Plans are afoot to open a mega food park in Nepal as was committed by the President of Nepal Prachanda during his recent visit to Haridwar.
Swami Ramdev has already reached Nepal to hold a yoga camp in Kathmandu.
