Putting a spanner in the plans of transport department to grant stage carriage permits to Tata Magic vehicles, the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) has issued a stay on the process. Passing the order, Justice V K Bist has directed the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to file its counter affidavit within a time frame of three weeks. Expressing happiness at the order of the court, the President of City bus association and petitioner Vijay Vardhan Dandariyal said that the RTA had listed agenda to grant stage carriage permits to Tata Magics in its meeting held on October 4.
