The High Court of Uttarakhand has disposed of the public interest litigation filed against the strike by the general and OBC employees association. During the hearing on Wednesday, the advocate general SN Babulkar informed the court that talks are being held with the employees association to arrive at a solution. Following this, the strike will end in a few days, he said. Considering the information provided by the advocate general, the high court division bench of justice Ravi Vijaykumar Malimath and justice Sudhanshu Dhulia disposed of the public interest litigation.

It is pertinent to mention here that Dehradun resident Lalit Kumar had filed the public interest litigation stating that about 1.5 lakh government employees under the banner of the general and OBC employees association were on strike against the provision of reservation in promotions.

The petitioner had stated that the employees had been on strike since March 2 due to which various governmental works were being affected negatively. He had further contended that the employees on strike were violating the directions of the High Court and Supreme Court issued in various instances.

The striking employees should withdraw the strike and return to work failing which departmental action should be initiated against them, the petitioner had stated.
