Following a complaint lodged by a woman from Rohtak in Haryana, a rape case has been registered at Haridwar police station on Wednesday morning. It is learnt that the two sisters had come from Rohtak to Haridwar and the younger one had been allegedly raped while the elder sister had gone out to buy medicines for herself. The sisters had taken a room on rent in Kailash guest house in Shravannath Nagar on Monday. When the elder one had gone out to get medicine a man had allegedly entered the room and raped the 26-yr-old woman.He had allegedly left her in unconscious state. After the elder sister had returned and found out what had happened, she lodged a complaint at the police station. During the medical check-up on Tuesday, rape was confirmed, police said.
Speaking of the matter, the police station in-charge Haridwar Chandrabhan Singh Bhandari said, “We have registered a case against an unidentified person. Probe is on and very soon, the accused would be nabbed. Our team is now checking the CCTV footages captured on the camera to identify the accused.”
