The land dispute of Sri Panchayati Nirmal Akhada has once again gained momentum. On Monday, police personnel from Haryana police reached Haridwar to probe Mahant Gyandev Singh but he was not found in the Ashram.

He had gone to Punjab, said some of those in the Ashram.

Speaking to The Pioneer, police station in charge of Pathri, Govind Kumar said, “Kurukshetra police had received a complaint against Sri Mahant Gyandev for allegedly usurping properties of Akhada worth crores of rupees.

Arrest warrants were issued in Haryana after which the police from there raided the Akhada premises today. However, the ascetic could not be contacted.”

When asked about this, Kothari Amandeep Singh of the Akhada said, “Gyandev ji has gone to Punjab, the police had come to inquire the issue of land which is 15 years old.

The Akhada had sold a small part of land to acquire more bighas of land in another area as part of expansion.

A tenant from Punjab, Resham Singh had lodged false complaint so the police came inquiring about the issue and left after recording our statements.”
