Haridayesh rebukes officials over gas supply

State Finance Minister and MlA from Haldwani Indira Haridayesh gave a dressing down to the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration over poor supply of  domestic cooking gas here on Thursday, saying it is quite disappointing to know that despite online booking system being introduced, the consumers are not getting gas cylinders on time.

Due to failure of the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration, the domestic cooking gas supply has collapsed in Haldwani, said the State Finance Minister. Since the consumers are paying for home delivery of the cooking gas cylinders the non- delivery  of the same cooking to the consumers’ doorsteps is a criminal offence, she added.

The matter of concern is that on account of non delivery of cooking gas at their door steps, the consumers have to wait on roads for long. The people have to wait in queue since morning to get a gas cylinder on roads which not only leads to wastage of time but also causes traffic jam, the MlA from Haldwani regretted.

Haridayesh also directed the officials concerned to improve the domestic cooking gas distribution service in three days. Notably, Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) look after the Indane domestic cooking gas supply in the region. As the officials concerned maintained, there are about 50,000 consumers of Indane domestic cooking gas in Haldlwani alone.

At the same time, she also directed the Dheeraj Singh Garbyal, MD, KMVN on phone to take effective measures to smoothen the domestic cooking gas supply. More so, the State Finance Minister also asked the Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate, Nainital, to improve domestic cooking gas distribution system in the district.
