Those selected for undertaking the Haj pilgrimage from Uttarakhand have been asked to pay fees by July 27.
Addressing the media, the Uttarakhand State Haj Committee chairman Haji Rao Sher Mohammed said that Saudi Arabia had decreased the quota for Indians undertaking the pilgrimage by 20 per cent, but the External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid had accepted his request to decrease the quota of private tour operators instead of decreasing the number of pilgrims selected by the State Haj Committee.
The SHC chairman said that those selected for the Haj under green category need to deposit Rs 1,06,100 per applicant and those under the Ajijiya category need to deposit Rs 76,050 per application in favour of Haj Committee of India, Mumbai, in State Bank of India through core banking by July 27 this year.
He informed that as in the previous year, those going for Haj from Uttarakhand will board their flight at Delhi embarkation point. The SHC will present related books to the pilgrims during their vaccinations and training in Delhi. Mohammed requested all the pilgrims to keep the pay in slips of the first and second installment of their payment during flight booking at Haj Manzil, New Delhi.
