Gypsy drivers and businessmen submit memo regarding online booking in Corbett

Regarding issues being faced in online booking for Corbett national park, a group of Corbett Gypsy drivers association and those involved in tourism business submitted an 11-point memorandum to the Corbett director in charge Parag Madhukar Dhakate on Thursday. Acknowledging various demands, he assured action in the near future on the issues. A meeting will be organised soon to find a solution to the other issues, he assured. Following this, the Gypsy drivers and others suspended their agitation for two days.

For some days now, issues are being faced in online booking on the Corbett website due to which the Gypsy drivers and businessmen had protested at the Corbett gate and stalled the operation of Gypsy jeeps in the national park for one day. Meeting Dhakate, they complained about the One

Time Password (OTP) system used for online permit booking. Dhakate said that the OTP would be received on the mobile phone of only one applicant for permit booking. When the delegation spoke of shifting the portal host from NIC, he said that attempts were on at the state administration level for this.
