The Governor of Uttarakhand Dr K K Paul will felicitate 26 teachers of the primary and secondary schools of the state with Governor’s Teachers Award at Raj Bhawan on the occasion of Teachers Day on September 5. These teachers are selected on the basis of their performance and teaching skills. The governor took the initiative to award the teachers from last year.
Two teachers have been selected from each district for the award –one from the primary level and the other from the secondary school level. The award would carry a citation and cash prize.
The Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Education Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani would be present in the ceremony.
