The Governor Baby Rani Maurya hoisted the national flag at the Parade Ground on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day in Dehradun on Saturday. Personnel of the Army, ITBP, police, PAC, Home Guards,
PRD and NCC cadets marched past the governor on the occasion. In addition to the march past, folk artistes from across the state also presented a glimps of the culture of Uttarakhand on the occasion.
The governor also awarded various government employees selected for the chief minister’s excellence and good governance awards on the occasion.
The march past by uniformed personnel and NCC cadets was appreciated by the gathering in addition to the cultural performances including various folk dances from Garhwal, Kumaon and Jaunsar regions of the state. Apart from the march past and cultural presentations, various departments also displayed their tableaux on the occasion.
