After media broke the news that the Centre had imposed President’s Rule on the State, Governor Dr KK Paul convened a meeting with the chief secretary Shatrughan Singh and DGP BS Sidhu at Rajbhwan on Sunday afternoon. During the meeting, the Governor asked them to make sure that no untoward incident happened in the State. Thereafter, the chief secretary convened a meeting with the senior IAS officers and conveyed the message of the Governor to all concerned. DGP BS Sidhu on his part convened a meeting with the senior IPSs and instructed them to deploy maximum police force to stave off untoward incidents.
Dehradun-Secretary Anand Vardhan has been appointed secretary to the Governor with immediate effect on Sunday.
