The Governor of Uttarakhand KK Paul has requested the Union Minister of Health and family welfare J P Nadda to release funds for the Almora Medical College.
In a letter the Governor said that the Union Government selected
Almora for setting up a medical college in the year 2014 and for it a decision to attach the district hospital with it was made.
He said that out of total cost of `189 crore the Union Government was supposed to fund 90 percent of the amount but it has released a sum of `11 Crore only for the college while the State Government on its part has released `99 Crores for the project till date.
The Governor said that the Union Government should release the remaining amount of `159 Crores for the college.
