The occasion of Guru Purnima was observed in various Ashrams in the city of Haridwar on Tuesday. The Patanjali Yog Peeth bore a festive look as any other Ashram on Tuesday morning to mark the occasion.

The parents and guardians of students also participated in the Yajna and sacred thread ceremony of many young students. They offered shawl to Swami Ramdev and Acharya Bal Krishna as a mark of respect to mark the occasion. The students who had memorised Bhagavad Geeta by heart were awarded by Ramdev.

Swami Ramdev took blessings from his scriptural mentor Acharya Pradyuman and guided all the volunteers present for the valedictory function of three day long international Yoga camp.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion he said, “If the disciple unites with the consciousness on which his spiritual master delves in, then his life will be transformed.” He exhorted the participants to unite themselves through mind, intellect, speech and behaviour with their mentors.

All the participants pledged with Ramdev to dedicate their lives to the welfare of the society and the nation. Speaking to the media persons, Ramdev said that India is a country which follows the traditions of gurus and sages.

The power of the spiritual masters has always led the country forward and is continuing doing so.

He said India was on the path to become a super power in the world by 2050 in economic and spiritual domains. At Shantikunj, head of Gayatri Parivar Pranav Pandya said, “The Guru or spiritual master not only develops the life of an individual but also removes the incompleteness in his life. The treasure of Sadguru is always filled with knowledge. One must approach as the true disciple to gain completeness.” He further informed that a month-long tree plantation drive was also started on the occasion.
