The gunner appointed for the advocate and RTI activist Rajesh Suri who died under mysterious circumstances in December 2014 has been found guilty of negligence during the day Suri died and Senior Superintendent of police (SSP) Nivedita Kukreti ordered him to run while keeping his firearm above for seven days.
It is learnt that the gunner Hemant Bisht did not accompany Suri on the fateful day on which he died as per his statement recorded.
As per his statement, Suri had asked him not to accompany him and also asked him to keep guard on his chamber instead.
Rita Suri, sister of the deceased advocate, alleged that the irresponsible behaviour of the gunner was partially responsible for her brother’s death.
