Expressing concern at the incidence of dengue in the area, State cabinet minister and Dharmpur MlA Dinesh Agrawal has requested the public representatives and Gram Prdhans to get fogging done in their respective areas in addition to getting the drains and surroundings cleaned in order to tackle the spread of dengue. Not missing the opportunity to lambaste the Dehradun mayor Vinod Chamoli, Agrawal said that dengue has spread in urban and rural areas too because of the failure of the municipal corporation of Dehradun to maintain the desired level of civic sanitation in the town with heaps of garbage lying in different areas. Expressing concern over the reported incidence of dengue cases from rural areas, the minister called a meeting of Panchayat and other public representatives of his assembly constituency.

The minister sought relevant information regarding the spread of dengue in rural areas from the Gram Pradhan and others attending the meeting. The Gram Pradhan said that they were facing problem due to non-availability of fogging machine and demanded that the purchase of the fogging machines be facilitated under the MlA fund. In response, Agrawal had a telephonic conversation with the chief development officer and directed the official to make provision for six fogging machines to the Gram Pradhan in the first stage under the MlA developmental fund. Agrawal also said that public representatives are expected to keep their respective areas clean and free of stagnant water. Additionally, the level of public awareness should also be raised and in case of anyone displaying symptoms of fever, the person should be taken to the doctor immediately and tests recommended by the doctor should also be undergone.

The minister further averred that fogging is being undertaken for the past couple of days in the Mehuwala rural area. Apart from this, the Sevlakala Khurd Pradhan,  Hari Prasad Bhatt and Sevlakala Pradhan Sudha Walia had made provision for procuring fogging machines using their respective funds.
