It sounds straight from the Hollywood flick — Never back down. The leader of Opposition, Ajay Bhatt, who has been in the Doon Hospital for the last couple of days due to severe thyroid infection, never shied away while ‘exposing’ the mistakes of the State Government that the Congress-led Government was under the grip of mafias operating in land, liquor and mining sectors. Reacting against the Cabinet decision, which has cleared Fl-2 despite adverse comment of Excise department officials, Bhatt alleged that to patronise liquor mafia Government has sacrificed its dignity because they tried to establish particular mafia in liquor trade of Uttarakhand during General Election-2014. “When we raised hue and cry then they cancelled their order. Now again, they managed to get the Excise Policy passed in the Cabinet meeting. To execute the order they constituted a cabinet sub committee led by Chief Minister, who is also Minister of Excise department. The committee will give its recommendation within one month and later government will implement the Fl-2 in the State.
Earlier, they implemented without Cabinet and later Cabinet agreed. Interestingly, the Cabinet has constituted a committee led by Chief Minister then question arises that under whose leadership Cabinet meeting conducted. If CM Harish Rawat did not lead the team then who conducted the cabinet meetingIJ With this Cabinet Sub Committee Chief Minister is trying to misguide the people about Fl-2 and nothing else. With this cabinet meeting, Congress led state government has ascertained our claim that state government is under the clutches of mafias. Earlier they made under-table agreement during general election-2014. Then excise department officials had made adverse comment and wrote that with this monopoly over the liquor would establish and people would not get liquor as per their choice. Now question arises that why Harish Rawat government is keen to impose new excise policy,” questioned Bhatt.
In a bid to deceive the hapless people, state government is claiming that they have constituted cabinet sub committee and the committee will take final call on Fl-2. It seems Chief minister Rawat believes that people of Uttarakhand are fools. Bhatt further demanded that people of Uttarakhand want to know why CM Rawat is keen to facilitate particular person in Fl-2. Now it is crystal clear that cabinet sub committee will give their recommendation in favour of Fl-2. With this decision liquor mafia would have hold on Fl-2 and they will supply liquor as per his wish. With this anarchy would prevail.
He further alleged that despite hue and cry state government has sought people opinion on Fl-2. For this they insert advertisement in local dailies. If they are really concern then they should have also given advertisement on how to face unemployment problemIJ How to provide security to women in the stateIJ How to improve law and order situation of the stateIJ They have sought public opinion because government has already made under table agreement. Now they can’t backtracked which is why they are doing every bit to justify their Fl-2 only. Expressing his resentment Bhatt said perhaps if they would have shown their such sincerity in state development then state would have witnessed far far better then now.
