Process to hire vehicles through outsourcing for Governmental Departments will be reviewed. While addressing the conference of Governmental Vehicle Driver Union at Municipal Corporation on Monday, Chief Minister Harish Rawat declared this.
Chief Principal Secretary Rakesh Sharma has been instructed to start dialogue with group of representatives of Vehicle Drivers to discuss the issues like demand of grade pay and converting one month special salary of Government vehicle drivers, Chief Minister informed.
Rawat said that process to hire vehicles through outsourcing instead of Government vehicles for all the departments of State Government would be re-examined. If Government is losing or benefiting through this process actually, it would be studied. Vehicle Drivers are important part of Government. Wheel of Government is run by these drivers. Almost all the State agreed with recommendations of 6th Pay commission concerned with reducing some cadres. But many issues have become complicated due to cadre reduction theory. It will take some time to resolve these naturally. Dispute between various cadres is an issue. Chief Minister asked leaders of Employee Unions to give suggestions after inclusive consideration regarding their respective cadres along with entire machinery of State. There are many disparities. Decisions only might be taken according to law. We will not only have to think about employees but people who did not get anything yet. Even today, a large part of society has no access to basic facilities. Considering the fact, State Government has given top most priority to Social Welfare schemes. Today Uttarakhand has become a State which is spending largest part of its budget on social welfare schemes. We have to create employment opportunities for our youngsters. Chief Minister asked to determine to work extra and best for the betterment of State. We should assess our productivity to improve it. Chief Minister Shri Rawat appreciated the Electricity Department for reducing transmission loss.
