While dwelling on how much importance the Centre is laying on the development of solar energy, Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Harshvardhan said the Solar Train might come much before the Bullet Train. He further said CSIR would come out with a new, epoch-making technology to mark its 75th anniversary next year. He said they were all working hard to translate the dream of Narendra Modi to make India a superpower by 2022.
He further said a solar based aeroplane had recently landed in Gujarat, marking the beginning of a new epoch in terms of solar-driven development. Gujarat has done phenomenal development in the field of solar energy. Maharashtra is also coming up with flying colours in the realm of solar energy. “Enthused by the pace of development, we are now engaged in expediting things. And, given the present state of things, it is possible that the Solar Train would come earlier than the Bullet Train,” the Union Minister said.
