The Congress-led Uttarakhand Government is going to complete its three year on March 13, 2015 but the internal fighting in the Congress party is still making news. Since its inception, the Congress Government has been facing internal conflict. During the tenure of Vijay Bahuguna, then Union Cabinet Minister Harish Rawat was seeking permission to organise Ganga bhajan programmes at Har-Ki-Paudi in Haridwar.
For this he had written several letters to the Government in Uttarakhand. Now after Harish has taken the lead in Uttarkhand, Ex-CM Vijay Bahuguna has become active and threatened to hold rallies against his own party. He has been writing letters to Rawat regarding the regularisation of land under categories IV and 1 (A) in his constituency Sitarganj.
He has said that if the State Government failed to address his problems he will organise Jana-akrosh (public anger) rally against the State Government. After receiving the letter, CM Rawat reached Delhi, although officially he has gone there to attend some function and canvass for the Congress party in upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, anti-Rawat faction spread the news that he has gone to Delhi to explain the situation to the party high command.
Talking to mediapersons, CM Rawat denied the threatening stir by Bahuguna and said that he is the MlA of Sitarganj and has the full right to raise the demands of the people of his constituency. He blamed media for blowing out this news out of proportion.
Meanwhile, State PCC president Kishore Upadhyaya said that Ex-CM Bahuguna should have raised the matter in the party forum instead of leaking the letter to the media. He stated that it is a serious matter and he would appeal their leaders to raise such issue on party forum only.
Talking to The Pioneer, State BJP president Teerath Singh Rawat said that the Congress-led Uttarakhand Government is busy in addressing their own problem within the party, so they are unable to address the grievances of public. He blamed the Government of failing to complete the announcements, which were made by Chief Minister Harish Rawat during his public addresses for the last one year.
Although Chief Minister Rawat has said that he would give full emphasis on implementation of Government announcements but one month has passed away in 2015 but no concrete works executed on ground, Teerath stated.
As far as reconstruction work in Kedar valley, it is being executed by Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi but the State Government is taking it as its own achievement.
