Various employees’ organisations in the State Transport Corporation often exert unjust pressure on the State Government and threaten to undertake agitation in order to get their demands met. Due to such factors, the State Government is considering to bring a bill in the next Vidhan Sabha session in the context of putting a stop to such strike by employees. The State Transport Minister Yashpal Arya said this while talking to media persons here on Sunday.
Speaking at a Press conference, the Transport Minister said that transport corporation is a very essential service department linked to the public. The employees of such departments should not go on strike. In order to ensure this a bill will be introduced in the Vidhan Sabha to put a stop on strike by employees of the transport department, he said. The minister further informed that the transport corporation is about to include about 250 new buses in its fleet of vehicles.
The formalities for the procurement of these buses are being completed, he said. Other local public representatives were also among those present at the Press conference.
