The issue of the agitation of the students of the Ayurveda colleges and autocratic behaviour of the private colleges was raised in the state Assembly on Thursday. The independent member Pritam Singh Panwar tried to corner the government on its failure to get the orders of Uttarakhand High Court (HC) implemented even after more than one year. It is pertinent to mention here that the HC had cancelled the government order (GO) of fee hike in the private Ayurveda colleges on July 9, 2018 and had directed these colleges to refund the excess fee charged within two weeks. However even after many orders of the state administration and contempt order by HC, the private Ayurveda colleges are not returning the fees to the students. In response to the question of member, the AYUSH minister, Harak Singh Rawat said that the state government would take stern action like cancellation of the affiliation of these colleges if they fail to implement the HC order within the deadline of one month given last month. He however added that cancellation of affiliation of these colleges would create problem for the students and the employees working in these colleges and hoped that the colleges would accept the orders.
