The Government teachers of all schools of the State would be brandishing brooms as a week long special sanitation campaign would start from Monday. The education department known for its slothful nature sprang into action when new Education minister Arvind Pandey directed the department to initiate a sanitation drive in all schools of the state.
The new BJP Government led by the Trivendra Singh Rawat has also taken a decision to implement Swachch Bharat Abhiyan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in right earnest. The highlight of this sanitation campaign would be non involvement of the students.
The Primary education director Seema Jaunsari told The Pioneer that all the District Education Officers (DEOs), Block Education Officers (BEOs), Principals and other officers have been asked to ensure that the campaign is a success.
She said that since the examinations of the students are currently going on so they would be kept away from this sanitation drive. “The teachers and other staff members would take part in the week long sanitation drive. The cleanliness drive would take place before and after the normal hours of school so that the academic environment is not disturbed,’’ she said.
The department has also asked the heads of the schools to upload the pictures of the cleanliness drive on the official whatsApp group before 5 pm everyday. This step is taken to ensure proper monitoring of the campaign.
The teachers and the other staff members would clean the class rooms, staff rooms, toilets, library, activity rooms, store of the Mid Day Meal (MDM) and the school building along with the school campus during the week ahead.
