The State Education Minister Arvind Pandey said that the Government teachers would not be allowed to apply themselves for Shailesh Matiyani State Award and a committee would be formed by the state government under the direction of the district magistrates for the purpose.
The committee would select teachers from across the state for the award.
Earlier, the teachers used to apply themselves for the award.
The members of the committee would be the chief education officer (CEO), district education officer (DEO) and some academicians, the minister added.
The committee would also consider several points like the result of the students and the pace of the educational activities.
The committee would forward the list of the selected teachers to the state government for approval, the minister added.
He also said that the state government would also choose a teacher of the month to be selected by the committee to be formed under the direction of the DMs. Furthermore, Rs one lakh would be given to the school to be used for adding to its resources.
