Bowing to the pressure of Prathemic Shikshak Sangh (PSS), the State Government has stopped the recruitment process of Block Resource Persons (BRP) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRP).
The PSS which is the largest employee organization in the state was up in arms against the recruitment drive initiated by the education department for these newly constituted posts.
The President of the PSS Nirmala Mahar said that the department initiated the recruitment drive without formulating rules and regulations for the newly constituted cadres of the BRP and CRP. She said that only the primary teachers should be eligible for these posts which belong to the Primary teacher cadre.
The education department has initiated the recruitment process for 984 posts of the Cluster Resource Persons (CRP) and 285 posts of Block Resource Persons (BRP) on June 27 under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
It is worth mentioning here that department rechristened the names of Cluster Resource Coordinator (CRC) and Block Resource Coordinator (BRC) to Cluster Resource Persons (CRP) and Block Resource Persons (BRP) respectively as it created a new cadre for these positions. According to the recruitment advertisement the serving Head Masters of Primary schools, Assistant teachers of middle schools and lecturer Teachers (lT) with a service of five years were eligible for being appointed as BRP and CRP.
The CRP and BRP are the basic positions in the education department who are assigned the tasks of training and monitoring the activities of the teachers. The serving CRC and BRC were also opposed to this recruitment drive as they would have been reverted back to their schools after the new appointments.
