Continued migration from the mountainous areas remains a serious problem in Uttarakhand with the Congress-led State Government failing to do anything concrete to solve the problem. Not only has the State Government failed to facilitate development, it has stalled progress in Uttarakhand, said the Bharatiya Janata Party State in charge Shyam Jaju after arrival of the party’s Parivartan Yatra in lalkuan on Friday.
Addressing the gathering in town, Jaju accused Rawat of being responsible for the deteriorated state of affairs. He said, “The CM was unable to handle his own party due to which Vijay Bahuguna joined the BJP with a developmental agenda. How can a party which could not handle its own MlAs facilitate the desired level of development in the StateIJ” The BJP leader also exhorted the public to elect the BJP to office in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections to enable development of a corruption-free administration.
Expressing his views on the occasion, the former Congress MlA and former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna said that development cannot be achieved in Uttarakhand simply by holding Vidhan Sabha session in Gairsain with work at the ground level being a vital requirement for achieving the desired progress. Addressing the public, the former CM averred that work had not been completed on the various announcements made by chief minister Harish Rawat so far.
Earlier, prior to the gathering, the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar MP and former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari said that there had been no scam since the BJP formed government at the centre which in turn is making the people look towards the BJP. The action directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding black money has caused tension for Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi with Mamta Banerjee, Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav being stunned by this move. Everybody is appreciating the step taken by the prime minister against black money,” he averred. Koshyari further targeted the chief minister lambasting him on varied issues while also averring that the State Government had not yet given an account of the crores of rupees provided by the Government of India and for the development of the Uttarakhand State.
