Taking cognizance of the gang-rape of a 12-year-old girl who later succumbed to her injuries during treatment, the State Government has sought help from Uttar Pradesh counterparts.
They have sought Trackers' dog squad to apprehend the allegedly rape accused. This incident has exposed police preparedness to deal with such crimes because they have sniffer dogs which deal only in finding explosives. They don't have a forensic wing, which could have played a pivotal role in unravelling the case, to collect evidence from the spot. Talking to The Pioneer, Principal Secretary, Home, Omprakash said: "We have sought dog trackers' squad from UP police and once it reaches, it will be deployed to track the accused."
