Govt revokes ban on recruitment in aided schools

The State Government has revoked the ban imposed on the process of recruitment in the aided schools of Uttarakhand. In an order, the education secretary Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh said that a ban had been imposed on the recruitment process in the aided schools on January 4, 2017. This ban has been revoked with immediate effect, the order said.

There are 334 Government aided schools in the State (130 in Kumaon division and 204 in Garhwal division). After complaints, the government in January last year had  cancelled the process of selection in 393 teaching posts in these schools.

The Government aided schools are managed by societies but the State Government bears the cost of the salaries of the staff members.

The salaries in these schools are at par with the Government salaries. large numbers of candidates usually apply for few teaching and other posts in these schools as apart from better salaries there is no fear of transfer from there.

On complaints of exchange of money, nepotism and favouritism which were supposed to be rampant in the selection process of these schools, the State Government had imposed a ban on  the recruitment.

It, however, had created problems on the functioning of these schools.
