In view of the precautions being observed considering the spread of novel coronavirus, the State Government has postponed the programmes to be held in all the Vidhan Sabha constituencies to mark the state government’s completion of three years in office on March 18.
In a communication sent by the chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh to all the district magistrates, it has been stated that the programme Vikas Ke Teen Saal “Bate Kam- Kaam Zyada” was to be held in all the Vidhan Sabha constituencies on March 18 to mark three years of the State government in office.
However, novel coronavirus is spreading in the world like a disaster and new cases of infected persons are also being identified in some Indian states. Considering this, the programme proposed to be held on March 18 is being postponed till further orders, stated Singh.
It is pertinent to mention here that this is the fourth major event either postponed or cancelled in the State. Earlier, the State Government had postponed the Adventure Summit scheduled to be heldat Ramnagar during March and the Wellness Summit scheduled to be held in Dehradun during April.
The State’s governor Baby Rani Maurya also cancelled the annual spring festival Vasantotsav to be held at the Raj Bhawan this month.
It will be recalled that the programmes which were to be held in all the 70 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the state on March 18 were to focus on the achievements of the State Government under Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat during its three years in office so far.
With the respective MLAs as the chief guests, the events were also meant to spread information about the various public welfare initiatives and schemes being undertaken by the State Government.
