Following the issuance of the Government Order (GO) on the Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) on Wednesday late afternoon, the agitating Government doctors have called off their work boycott.
The doctors of the State health services under the banner of Provincial Medical Health Services (PMHS) were on a two hour OPD boycott agitation from Monday. On Wednesday the PMHS was assured by the senior health department officers that the GO for across the board implementation of the
DACP would be released and a draft of the GO was also provided to the association of the doctors.
The Spokesperson of the PMHS, Dr Anand Shulkla confirmed that the doctors have decided to call off their agitation. He however added that the draft of the GO is being discussed among the association.
The GO reportedly makes it mandatory that the doctors would have to do two years of service in the mountainous areas of the State. This compulsion is made on every promotion they get. It is learnt that these conditions are
troubling the doctors and they are huddling to counter these measures.
The State Cabinet in its meeting of June 4 had decided to the implement the DACP for all doctors of the State health services-the Government last year introduced the DACP but restricted it to new joinees-but its GO was not issued to the discomfiture of the doctors.
The DACP means assured increase in the grade pay of the doctors after 4, 9, 13 and 20 years of the service irrespective of whether they get promotions or not. The salaries of all the serving doctors would get a healthy boost by the implementation of the DACP.
The doctors were also keen to have the DACP implemented before the provisions of VII pay commission are put into force by the State Government.
