The State Government has approved Rs3.25 crore for modernisation of the Haldwani sports stadium.
Out of the approved Rs3.25 crore, an amount of Rsone crore has already been released to the department concerned, said State Finance Minister and MlA from Haldwani assembly constituency, Indira Hridayesh.
Hopefully, the stadium with modern sports and other necessary basic facilities will be ready in a year, the State Finance Minister expressed hope.
In the meanwhile, in a bid to ensure timely completion of the modernisation works of this aforesaid sports stadium, the officials concerned have also been directed to prepare the plan of the stadium within a week so that works could be started on this project as early as possible.
Under this modernisation plan the aforesaid stadium will be equipped with basic sports facilities like fields for conducting cricket, hockey, football and basketball matches.
More, flood lights will also be installed to facilitate conducting of sports activities even during night hours, the State Finance Minister informed.
Apart from equipping it with modern sports facilities, other basic services like hostel and parking services will also be introduced in this sports
stadium to ease inconveniences to people including sports persons, she added.
