Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College Ghurdori has launched Clean GB Pant Mission to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of clean India in sync with the Clean India Movement that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched on October 2.
GB Pant Engineering College Principal Anurag Kumar Swami administered the oath to the students, faculty staff and other employees to have the college premises clean and to motivate others for cleanness and sanitation. They plunged into the cleaning exercise immediately after the oaths were taken. They collectively collected garbage and waste products and cut lantena and gazer grass as part of the mission.
Swami said that the youth must shoulder the responsibility to spread the message underlying the Clean India Mission and motivate the people at large. The momentum should continue even after they leave the institute after their professional course is completed. Now the onus rests on them to keep their hostels, college premises and the surroundings clean. Besides, they must internalize it so that it can be part of their personality, the Principal stressed.
Prof Y Singh, Dr Kirit Semwal, Prof H Goel, Dr Preeti Dimri, Ashish Negi, Mangal Singh, R B Patel and others participated in the programme along with the students and the staff members. They vowed to lead the mission themselves. The clean mission will continue in the college in the coming days, said the Principal.
