In connection with an honour killing case registered at Rudrapur police station, the Udham Singh Nagar police have arrested a couple, lalan Rajbhar and his wife Duleshwari, residents of Simala Pistaur village of Rudrapur tehsil, for allegedly killing their daughter on Wednesday for eloping with a boy of another community. Both the boy and the girl had gone to Punjab on March 12.
On March 13, Duleshwari registered a case stating her 14- year-old daughter was kidnapped by Shamsher Ismile on March 12 evening. Taking cognisance, Udham Singh Nagar police registered a case under Sections 363/366 of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act in the Rudrapur police station.
Acting on this case, Udham Singh Nagar SSP Nilesh Anand Bharne formed several teams and deployed them in various places in the district and neighbouring States of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi to crack the case. The teams rescued the girl along with the accused from Punjab. The girl had recorded her statement under Section 161 of the CrPC before police where she had claimed herself to be an adult.
Both were produced in the court. Her parents had submitted an affidavit in the court, stating they would not harass their daughter.
