The members of the now infamous Tablighi Jamaat hospitalised in the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital here are creating problems for the doctors and other medical staff involved in their treatment. After the Union Government issued an advisory to the states to keep all the members of the Jamat who had attended the congregations at Nizamuddin centre into quarantine, large number of members of Jamat were put into institutional quarantine in Uttarakhand. In the GDMC hospital, 16 members of Jamaat are hospitalised. On Friday the hospital staff complained that the Jamaat followers are complaining about food and making demands. One person was also seen spitting on the floor of the ward.
The deputy superintendent of the GDMC hospital and coordinator of the COVID-19, Dr N S Khatri told The Pioneer that the Jamaat followers created ruckus when the morning breakfast was being given, besides one of them was spitting on the floor. The principal of the GDMC, Dr Ashutosh Sayana said that a formal complaint has been lodged on the issue. On the complaint police personnel visited the ward and warned the trouble makers.
