Terming the incident where the doctors of the female wing of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) worked in the light of candles and mobile phones to facilitate nine deliveries as most unfortunate, the state Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni said that it has shown the level of insensitivity of Trivendra Singh Rawat Government. “It shows that the hospital does not have a power back-up which is very shocking,” she added.
“If this happens in the biggest Government hospital of the State, one can understand the condition of the health services in the remote and mountainous locations. Owning responsibility for such a bizarre incident, the Chief Minister should immediately select one person from among 57 BJP MLAs and appoint him as the Health Minister of the State,’’ she said.
