Following the media reports that the Congress may field State Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat against ex-CM Maj Gen Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri from Garhwal lok Sabha seat, the BJP leader said that the seat out of five lok Sabha seats of the State is safest for the BJP because people have taken a pledge to vote for the BJP.
Talking to The Pioneer, BJP spokesperson Prakash Suman Dhyani said that people are welcoming Gen Khanduri with an hope that he would rebuild the damaged infrastructure like road, which were damaged during June disaster 2013. As there is waive of BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi blowing in full swing and everybody knows that Gen Khanduri cries for Uttarakhand.
No matter whom congress fields from Garhwal lok Sabha seat against Gen Khanduri because everybody knows that What Gen Khanduri had done for Uttarakhand when he served nation as an union surface and transport minister during Atal Bihari Vajpayee led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) regime.
Former Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj, who was contesting lok Sabha election from here since 1989, is with BJP and congress is yet to complete their search for Satpal replacement.
Through media we heard that cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat may be fielded against Gen Khanduri by the congress high command. Now it is too late and congress is free to field anyone but verdict would come in favour of Gen Khanduri only.
