Hundreds of students from local schools visited the exhibition ‘Har Har Gange Namami Gange’ presented during the week-long Swadeshi Mela which concluded on Tuesday. The students presented their ideas on the imperative of keeping the Ganga clean and how to conserve the environment.

During the evening of the day, a play Komal Gandhar based on Mahabharata by a Mumbai-based group was staged. The play showcased how Bhishma married Gandhari to King Dhritrashtra and how she tied a black band on her eyes.

Speaking to The Pioneer, the organiser of the Swadeshi Mela Sanjay Chaturvedi of Divya Prem Sewa Mission said, “Through the mela, we have been able to inculcate the spirit of Swadeshi and the values our age-old epics epitomise among the people, especially among the young. The festival has given platform to many indigenous brands. We are successful in our mission.”
