Two months ahead of Ardh Kumbh Mela, Urban Development Secretary DS Gabriyal inspected the ensuing construction works of permanent and temporary nature in the Har ki Pauri area on Sunday morning. later in the evening he took departmental meeting of the officials concerned directing them to expedite the works.
The secretary asked the department officials to expedite the pending Ardh kumbh mela works by increasing the man power wherever needed. Stressing on the need to maintain quality in construction works he said that no compromise shall be allowed in maintaining the stability and strength of the infrastructural works.
During site inspection on the hill by pass road, he directed the officials to complete the pending road works. later he surveyed the area from Subhash ghat to Birla ghat at Har ki pauri area which is the main sanctum sanctorum for the ridging works and asked to complete the de-silting works from sarvanand ghat to downstream at Har ki pauri.
For the security of pilgrims bathing on the ghats the Secretary instructed to install mild steel angles, chains and poles wherever needed. He also inspected the expansion activities on the ghat at har ki pauri, raising of pillars and blocks and tile laying work on the slopy pavements.
In the afternoon he inspected lal pul and laltarao bridge repair and construction works.
Along with the S P Ardh kumbh mela Jagatram Joshi and Meladhikari S A Murugeshan, several other departmental officials were present in the meeting held at mela control room
Upper mela adhikari Awdhesh Singh, executive engineer irrigation S K Yadav and Mukhya nagar adhikari Vipra Trivedi were also present in the review meeting.
